Dr. Kenneth Schwarz is licensed as a psychologist in Connecticut and New York and holds a certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. He received his doctoral degree in psychology from New York University in 1977 and completed his postdoctoral training at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1982. He did his internship at the Association for Mentally Ill Children of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
Dr. Schwarz was in private practice in Pound Ridge, New York from 1978 until becoming Director of Psychology at Dutchess Medical Practice in Dutchess County, New York in 1994. Previously, Dr. Schwarz co-founded Clear View, a day treatment center and school in Westchester County, New York. He also founded and ran the Clear View Mother-Child Therapeutic Day Nursery and was Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology at New York University. Dr. Schwarz was a member of the allied health staff at Sharon Hospital from 1994 to 2015.
Dr. Schwarz’s clinical practice includes diagnostic evaluation, adult psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, family and couples counseling, adolescent psychotherapy, play therapy and parent-child therapy. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
